How it works

Know what happened, without keeping it all in your head.

Done When keeps the shared record simple: what needs doing, who is responsible, who actually did it, who is up next, and when it was last done.

1. Create a household

Bring the people who share the work into one household so everyone sees the same shared tasks and history.

2. Add a task

Create chores or recurring maintenance such as taking out the trash, cleaning the bathroom, watering plants, or changing filters.

3. Choose how responsibility works

Use Rotation when turns should move fairly, Assigned for one stable responsible person, Anyone when any household member can do it, or Private for a task only you should see.

4. Mark what really happened

A completion records when the task was done and who actually completed it. If Alex helps while Sam is up next, Done When records Alex without pretending Sam did it.

5. Use the history, not memory

See when a task was last completed, who did it, and its completion history. Optional frequency and completion-based recurrence can help surface work at the right time.

Responsibility without rigidity.

The person shown next remains clear, but another active participant can still help. Done When records the actual completer. If the helper was not the person up next, that current person stays up next.

Scan → open the task → Done.

A QR code or NFC tag can live where the job happens. Scanning it opens the exact task, then the household member still chooses Done. The tag never completes a task automatically.

Keep shared tasks clear without over-managing them.
